Shillong is a hill station located at an altitude of 4990 feet above sea level. It is the capital city of Meghalaya. But do you know, formerly the town was called Lewduh? Shillong View Point

Cherrapunji is a beautiful town also famous for the amount of rainfall it receives. A few years back, this place was regarded as the highest rainfall place in the world. Cherrapunji is also called Sohra by the natives. The place is famous mainly for majestic waterfalls and clouds. Guwahati

The city is established beside the Brahmaputra river and is the biggest city in Assam. Guwahati is around 100 km far from Shillong city, and it takes about 6 hours to reach there by road. Guwahati is a majestic city in its true sense. It is believed that Guwahati was built by the demon king Narkasur. Another fascinating thing about Guwahati city is that Kamdev (God of Love) also took birth. Moreso, two of the biggest attractions of Guwahati are Kamakhya Devi Temple and the mighty Brahmaputra river. Reaching Guwahati is relatively easy. One can travel by air, rail, and bus as well.
