It was believed that the word Nahan is a derivative of NAHAR which means ‘Do not kill’. Jaitak Fort

Situated at a distance of almost 15 to 18 km from Nahan, Jaitak Fort is a quaint place in the Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh. The fort is situated on the Jaitak hills was built in 1810 by a Gurkha leader Ranjor Singh Thapa. The fort is famous for its construction. It was built with the remains of the Nahan fort conquered and ransacked by Ranjor Singh Thapa and his soldiers. Another reason to visit this fort is due to its location. Renuka Lake

This lake is at an altitude of 672 meters above sea level, located in the Sirmaur district. This picturesque lake was named after Goddess Renuka. Shivalik Fossil Park

This fossil park is a national Geo heritage monument fossil park. Shivalik Fossil Park is also called Suketi Fossil Park is at a distance of 20 Km from Nahan. It is a popular tourist place near the banks of the Markand river. This park is of great historical value. The fossils of mammals found here are considered to be the world’s greatest antiquities. Entry to this park is free. However, you have to keep time in mind. The park is only open between 9 AM to 5 PM.

Rani Tal

Rani Tal is a royal heritage and one of the top tourist attractions in Nahan. It is a mesmerizing place having a garden on one side and a pond on another side. You can spend your time here rambling in the garden or feeding fish and turtles in the pond. Along with this, you can also visit Shiva temple and Goddess Lata Devi temple situated in Rani Tal.

Kangojodi

This place is a treat for nature lovers and adventurers. Kangojodi is enclosed by lush green foliage of pine and oak trees. This place is another favourite spot for tourists due to its green aura. Kangojodi is 30 km away from Nahan. You can do several activities here like camping and trekking. Camping and other adventure activities are carried out by Camproxx in Kangojodi.

Located at Shivalik hills, Nahan reserves pleasant weather for all tourists. The temperature during the summers can go up to 35 degree celsius, but cool winds from mountains make up for the soaring temperature and make the place an excellent offbeat destination of summers.
