Roughly 250 to 300 km from Delhi, Jim Corbett National Park is a treat for your eyes. Rich flora and fauna and marshy lands procure 50 mammal species, 25-33 different types of reptiles, 110 tree species, and 580 species of birds.

Jim Corbett National Park is widely known as the place for Royal Bengal Tigers. A large number of tourists prefer to be guests of this place just to get a glimpse of the Royal Bengal Tigers. Just like every other sightseer, I also decided to drop around to see all the hype related to this place.

Trip To Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand.

Just like any other hired hand, I also look out for small getaway trips that I can plan on weekends. With my family, I decided to visit Jim Corbett National Park on the last weekend of November 2020.

I live in Delhi and we were into the last week of November. The last Friday of the month was approaching and we decided to find solace Into The Wilds. The pleasant weather with a slight cool breeze allowed us to embark on our journey with ease.

Early morning on Saturday, around 5 AM, we started our journey. Not being a guide, but a perfect time to travel by road is either early in the morning or at night. Avoiding rush hours can narrow your travel time to a great extent.

It was around 10 or 11, we completed our 250 km journey to reach our resort. Our resort was in the Ramnagar area of Uttarakhand. So, quickly I and my family headed to our rooms and got ourselves ready for Day 1.

Day 1 At Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand

On day 1, we decided not to go for the Jim Corbett Safari, but rather look into other places. So, we were having some places on our plates for day 1, One is Corbett Fall, the Second is Garjia Temple, Third One is Kosi River site seeing.

Corbett Fall

It was a picturesque waterfall that comes under the Jim Corbett premises. It was a natural waterfall surrounded by a dense teak wood forest. The place was so mesmerizing that it can have a tranquilizing effect on your soul. Corbett Fall is a perfect place for having ethereal shots in your camera.

If you are visiting this place, no need to spend a lot many hours, 1 to 2 hours are more than enough.

Garjia Temple

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, is quite fascinating. The temple is situated at the top of a rock in the middle of the Kosi river. The temple is having a number of stairs, I forgot the number, but it would give you a nice amount of sweat.

Garjia temple is quite famous in Ramnagar and Nainital. Thousands of devotees come to this temple on Karthik Poornima.

Kosi River

We lastly went to the Kosi river, all tired and shivering a bit, as it was the last week of November, thus weather was playing its role.

The Kosi River flows through Tibet, Nepal, and India. The river is believed to be the home of Gods Shiva, Bhairon, and Goddess Saraswati. It is one of the holy rivers in India.

You can have white water rafting on the Kosi river. But, we decided to have a few pictures at river banks and move to our resort.

All these spots we covered on Day 1 of our trip. After reaching our resort, we enquired about Jim Corbett’s safari booking and other details at the reception area of our resort and booked a Safari for the next day.

Day 2 at Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand

Every day the same sun rises for everyone in every corner of the world. But very few of us able to witness a beautiful sunrise. We all are so much engrossed in daily hustle and bustle that we have forgotten to love and enjoy the beauty of nature. We witnessed a beautiful morning with a perfect sunrise. We had a good breakfast in the resort and then got ourselves ready for the Safari. Our Jim Corbett national park safari time was 2 PM. A safari jeep picked us from our resort and within 20 to 30 minutes we reached Jhirna Gate at Jhirna Zone of Jim Corbett National Park. There is a Corbett Tiger Museum at the entry of the gate, you can check it out. Inside it, you can find unknown facts about Jim Corbett and enjoy a light and sound show as well.

Our safari started around 3 PM. We had an endless forest in front of us. At first, we found various species of deer. Moving ahead a complete family of wild elephants is one of the awestruck moments for us and quite intimidating as well. Then the driver took us inside the jungle where they have a cottage as well as a canteen for refreshment. Again we continued our safari and still, our eyes were looking high and low for the tiger. Finally, traversing the forest, we found the luck and witnessed a tigress with two of her cubs, hiding behind the bushes. She got alerted to the noise of our Jeep and went swiftly to the prone position. We ended our safari and reached our resort around 7 PM.

Day 3: Returning From Jim Corbett National Park

On day 3 of our trip, we early morning checkout from the resort and headed towards Delhi and reached around 1 PM.

A sojourn to Jim Corbett national park is an enthralling experience that takes you close to nature, wildness, and adventure. It was a short weekend trip. If you are planning to visit this National park, then remember these points.

Plan Your Trip To Jim Corbett National Park

If you are planning to visit Jim Corbett, you should plan your trip prior to reaching that place. Here are some important things to keep in mind.

  • Dhangadi Gate at Dhikala Zone has the maximum number of Tigers. Therefore, Jim Corbett safari booking should be done keeping this in mind.
  • The best time to visit Jim Corbett is from mid of November to Mid of June months. If you want to enjoy the cold climate along with nature, Jim Corbett weather in winter could be an ideal one for you.
